Guest guest
morning all, you don't hear from me much but i love to read the digest from the list. i don't have much to contribute but take alot away from it. thanks for all the helpful tips and insights. i do have a problem that maybe someone on the list can help me with. my mother-in-law was bite on the hand by my 2yr old neice. cheyenne didn't want to come in the house when grandma wanted. she had cheyenne by the hand and was walking up the steps to the house when cheyenne bent over and bit her hand. peggy said it was like a locked jaw, cheyenne didn't release. the skin was broke in 4 places where the teeth sunk in. peggy is 65. she has had ppt and her ammune system has been compromised because of it. cheyenne is not a violent child but in her defence, it's only one way for a child her age to show defence. the wound swelled up, naturally, and bruised. like most older people, peggy's skin is getting thin. i suppose that it was about the size of a half dollar at the time. she treated it was an antibotic cream. sunday, after cutting the grass, she noticed that the brusing had spread over the whole top of her hand and was almost black. she went to er and was told that she had a soft tissue infection that had spread. she was given a very strong antibiotic shot and some antibiotic pills and sent home. she was told if it was no better by weds to come back. my question is, is there anything that i can make up, topically, to help draw this infection out? the bite, itself, is scabbed over. i do have a couple of comfrey plants here, along with lots of lavander plants. i also have a salve that i made up for the horses that contains comfrey, lavander, rosemary, yarrow, lemon balm and roses. this works very well to take the swelling down and tends to heal faster. i also have several oils here. helichrysum, lavander, lemon tea tree and such. any suggestions to combinations would be appreciated. thanks, deb c chillicothe, mo. Firsdt of all, you should soak it in epsom salts and water. handful of salts to enough water to cover, make it as warm as she will take it. Do this a coupel times a day. My DH had a red streak almost to his knee once and never mentioned it until he got scared. The epsom salts got rid of it. HTH Neysa
Guest guest
What a sad story.... Remember, comfrey can lock in an infection and make it worst It does wonderfully well to heal a wound where the infection has cleared. This does take strong antibiotics IMHO.
