Guest guest
Hi Folks, This week (August 9 - 15) our herb of the week will be Yarrow (Achillea millefolium ). It is lovely to grow and oh so very potent a healer. I will post various info about yarrow all week, and I hope that anyone who has any personal experience with this plant will not hesitate to chime in about it :-D *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com
Guest guest
Yarrow is one of my favorite plants. A small sprig of yarrow when cooking beans will help to break down the flatulence. Dried , powdered or even fresh Yarrow will stop bleeding. My favorite is how to get the most of a Tbsp. of yarrow ( flowers, dried) when having sinus problems..: ) Our 2 cups of boiling water over a generous tablespoon of dried Yarrow flowers. Put a towel over your head and steam your face until the steam is gone. Dip a washcloth in the still hot yarrow tea and pack your sinuses with it, externally. Use a neti pot or tsp. to sniff up some yarrow tea, holding one nostril closed while doing one than he other.. Pour the rest into the bathtub and take a nice relaxing bath.. A little yarrow tea will also help you to sleep. C-M
