Seeking Help...kinda O/T

Ok, I dont even know were to begin here. I've been interested in homeopathic

remedies and herbs since my daughter was born. Because I I'm grasping at straws

for my little dog. please forgive me for bringing up a dog but I've tried on the

animal lists and I havent gotten to far. my little 16 year old shitzu has been

on prednsone for a few years now. about 5 years ago she blew a disk in her spine

and I had to keep her still for four months. she seemed to have recovered but

then this past year in a half she has started going backwards. basicly if I dont

keep her on the pred her legs come out from under her and she falls and she

yelps from pain. the exrays show that her spine is fusing from T4-T9 Her spine

is curved were those vertibrades are. I worked with a homeopath over the

internet and she said she had sciatica and Limbo it helped some but she said

that was all she could do. so I went on the TCM for animals list and they

suggested the Seven Forest Liquidamber 15 which has helped some. and to also use

the Seven Forest Drynaria 12 and see how that goes. When she walks her back legs

bow and sometimes its almost like she cant control were she poops. Does anyone

know of anything else I can use to help this prob?? My vet says the pred is the

best thing they can do. she is on arthritis supplaments and shes on a raw food

diet. has anyone had any success with this issue? I'm Pregnant with my 2nd baby

and I'm doing the best I can. I'm trying to take care of everyone including my

fur Kids.

Sorry for your poor fur kid's condition. I would take her to a good ortho vet

and she what she/he says.

Try throwing in some bulk MSM to this mix. I roll up a tsp/day (or

more) in some hamburger for my Golden... helps...

down to 1/2 a pred tab 3x a week, but her hindquarters are almost not

working----just as you describe. I got a natural product from my vet that

has really helped. The only problem is he charged me an arm and a leg for

it. I found it for about half thru google. Look up " Denamarin " . It's a combo

of SAMe and Silymarin. I would say it has cut her falling incidences way

down, and she is more comfortable walking across the slippery kitchen floor.
