>>>>could it be the ileo-cecal (sp?) valve?

I've tried massaging the colon to unstick the valve/colon (if that's what it is). My natural health doc also pressed around pretty hard to loosen it up. It hasn't helped. I feel no lumps in the colon where the pain is. I know that I do feel better when I eat an alkaline diet. That's one reason I'm jazzed to do a cleanse ASAP. (But I'm nursing...) I'm wondering if there's a partial cleanse regime for nursing moms (I've checked the archives but didn't see anything.)

An aquaintance told me it must be my bladder since I also have radiating hip/upper leg pain. She said the pregnancy could have bruised my bladder (I had a punching *and* kicking baby boy), but it's been 20 months. It seems like that would have recovered by now... any thoughts on this?

Anyway, thanks for your reply, Louise. I appreciate any thoughts on my issues.

Thanks for your time,

jill

Jill,

I'm inclined to suggest a massage. A good bodyworker should be able to

figure out where the issue is, and offer relief. Mine has done absolute

wonders for myself and my husband. Another thought is a chiropractor.

You may have a "chi blockage", or rather an area where you're *out* and

causing energy disruption in a median. (I'm not talking hokey new age

stuff here, but how the body operates- just to be clear.)

Bodyworkers are worth every penny in my opinion, and I highly recommend

a weekly massage!

A massage is a great idea. My natural health doc, also a kinesiologist/chiropractor works on me about once a month (my hips/lower back, mostly,) with super results. Just no luck with the abdominal pains. He mentioned a massage, and I just haven't done it due to time and $$. He has a deep tissue guy in his office he recommended. I think I'll make it a priority. I'd also like to get some acupucture done to get the energies flowing.

I appreciate your ideas, and more are welcome. I'm ready to tackle this head-on, and I just can't wait to get started on my cleanse when the baby is weaned (4-6 months away, probably.) I guess I have some time to prepare. My hubby is going to do it with me because he is tired of being overweight and unhealthy. My way of handling health issues has rubbed off on him! He now does herbals instead of antibiotics!

Thanks everyone for your time. I love this group! It's nice to know so many people with the same ideals in healthcare...

thank you, rayne, for that wonderful compliment, if more people knew the value of good bodywork, they would be running, not walking, to find one....than maybe those of us that do that kind of work wouldn't so often find ourselves in the starving artist financial condition!!

i also sent jill an out of forum email suggesting bodywork techniques she could consider having done.

my mom had a total hysterectomy in her 30's but I believe in her 40's found out she had a bad curve of her spin that caused the pains she was having and if she had just gone to a chiro earlier I might have had a younger brother or sister ( well dad had something done but anyway LOL). just food for thought.
