Zoe,

Where in CA are you? Not everyone is

listed in Local Harvest especially if they only do a handful of livestock a

year. I have a friend in Modesto

that I buy registered Angus from that sells by the whole or side.

As I suspected, there are no local farmers for

meat(lots of veges- but no meat) I did however find an online store that

carries Buffalo

meat- have written for assurance that they would not be using the spray.

Have alreaady received a response. This in just MINUTES!!!

Im impressed. and going to order some ground buffalo right away.

I prefer that meat anyways and its just not available locally at any

price. If anyone is interested.

I am in Alpine almost to the Mexico border - east of San Diego. not sure where Modesto is but its not around here. That would be way tooooooo much for me anyways- very small freezer. I need someplace where I can buy 5-10 lbs at a time. Ive checked with others around here and no one is aware of any farms - this is horse country or vegetable farming- lots of those but not too many are organic.- and Im beginning to understand why-

between the caterpillars, grasshoppers and gophers I don't have a whole lot left. :( Something is even boring right into the very hot peppers LOL. and the horseradish which is also very hot. I have a small order of buffalo meat on the way, dang shipping cost more than the meat, but I can do with Less meat, as long as I can have a bit now and then Im happy. I think there are Free range chicken farms around, but whether they are organic remains to be seen. Still investigating.

Thanks for all your help
