Hello! I was interested in checking out the benefits of colloidal

silver for my arthritis, chronic bronchitis and chronic fatigue. I

understand that different companies have varying amounts in the

bottles sold, but this website:

http://www.quackwatch.org/01QuackeryRelatedTopics/PhonyAds/silverad.html

claims that people can actually turn grey from it over time! Has

anyone heard of t his happening with long-term users? And what does

that do to the body?

Thanks for your help,

Nik

The amount of silver in colloidal silver is quite small. You will not turn grey!Nik <ryotboi wrote: Hello! OK, it actually can turn skin grey with excessive amounts! Here is what you need to read. http://www.nspforum.com/index.cgi?read=17378 Also, the medicos have no right to complain about CS. For years they used drugs based on mercury and arsenic. Which did have issues.

Nik,

Just so you know the guy who runs that website is a

one time Dr who's funded by a lot of large drug

companies. If you do a google search on him there are

a lot of complaints about him and his site. The only

people I ever heard that had the happend to them were

taking the WRONG form of silver. Only 99.9 percent

silver will work. Some people have have inaccurate

information and use Sterling Silver which is toxic and

can cause greying of the skin. As for the Quackwatch

website. Watch out that Dr has been sued and his site

is basically bogus and he uses it to pass along views.

Here's the truth on Quackwatch.

Speaking for personal experience IF you do it

corrently your skin will not turn grey no matter what

the amount. A few months ago I had the flu and for

about a week I took about 70 ounces a day and nothing

happened other than I got better a lot faster. Very

very important only 99.9 silver NOT sterling silver.

Dear Tony,

I'm not sure how valid this post you referred to is.

I suggest we get a few of the Colloidal Masters on list to comment on this.

I've never heard of anyone turning grey from the use of true colloidal silver, regardless of dosage, but I will admit to limited knowledge here and bow to those with more experience.

All the best,

Doc

Hi Tony,

Colloidal Silver does not turn one gray- Silver Nitrates will however.

That's why it is best to make your own CS so you know exactly what

you're taking. (Also because it's loads cheaper!)

I highly suggest joining one of the silver lists out there and learning

more about this terrific substance.

I looked up some more info. It was with very high doses for long periods, the doses recommended will not hurt anyone at all. Also, (this is interesting), CS was used and documented in the UN navy medical manual as a method to sterilize water in the field before drinking it up until 1973 and it was a standard pharmaceutical preparation until the mid 60s."Dr. Ian Shillington" <DocShillington wrote: Dear Tony, I'm not sure how valid this post you referred to is. Raine, I am a chemist and I know that CS turning one silver could be mistaken data.Siver nitrate will because it can react and deposit silver, but colloidal silver is already in its elemental state and will not react (except at it surface). I am also sure of many positive outcomes with CS, especially being that it was removed in the US in the 80s for awhile by the medicos.

I have heard and read on the internet that you can

turn blue from CS, never Gray! If you take too much,

they say you will get a blueish skin color! Oh, I

don't take CS, but I would not mine becoming Blue for

a while, Hee, Hee!

Hi Andrew,

What you say is what I've been led to believe by the pros I've talked to about it.

Our resident expert on the subject hasn't posted in a while and I was kinda waiting for him to take over this thread. Rob Combis, one of our moderators, has researched this very thoroughly.

Best,
