Hi Melody.

According to my data, the almond processors in California are all

geared up or gearing up to begin the pasturization process on Sept. 1st.

This is when the new almond crop will be harvested. As I understand

it, the process is a fast heat process up to about 150 degrees.

They are saying that the almond will still sprout. I doubt it.

I have heard nothing about an irradiation process.

Are we talking the same thing here?

Hi, I wanted to ask for an update on the California Almond situation.

Have they started to irradiate almonds? It seems to me the ones I'm

seeing in the stores are much darker skin color than I've ever noticed

before. I don't know if this is a different variety or if it's

something else. But they don't look like raw almonds to me. They say

raw almonds. I assumed that you might know the answer to this

question, so Iask.

Thanks Melody
