Guest guest
Thank you very much for the info. I will look into this book. Sounds very interesting. ~B Nikki Rose wrote: There are a few resources about what the FDA does (or does not do). One very thorough investigation is a book: Appetite for Profit: How the Food Industry Undermines our Health and How to Fight Back, by Michele Simon. She is a public healthy attorney specializing in nutrition policy and food industry tactics. Also, a few other famous books discuss the "unhealthy alliances" such as Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser. And Michael Pollan's recent books cover the subject as well. I worked in a law firm back in the 1980's that handled FDA issues. Back then, the public was kept completely in the dark about major issues that effect their health and safety. Corporations worked to block public access to their product information (if it was negative news). Now, these issues are coming to light. The more the public knows, the better prepared they can be. I wrote a short blurb about unhealthy alliances for Slow Food a while back. It's not complete like the books mentioned above, just a rant about the issues.
