The Truth About Bottled Water - Safe Haven Or Big Lie?

I used to think the solution to pure drinking water was bottled

water. A little research quickly revealed I was wrong. Bottled water may be one

of the greatest marketing tricks of all time. Believe it or not, the quality of

bottled water is no more pure than the regular water out of your home. Since

there is no government regulation on bottled water, the bottled water companies

could literally be filling plastic bottles of water in your backyard and then

selling those same bottles to you. As a bonus you get charged a premium for it

too.

In fact, a high-level authority from the FDA

(The Federal Drug Administration) made this comment: "Companies that

market bottled water as being safer than tap water are defrauding the American

public." Needless to say, that's a strong statement.

Furthermore, if you have environmental

concerns, you should review this statement from Eric Olsen of the Natural

Resources Defense Council:

"It [the purchase of bottled water]

causes millions of plastic bottles to be manufactured, transported and then

disposed of in U.S. landfills, it's killing our planet, and for no good

reason..."
