Guest guest
I haven't had a husband/partner for over 20 years... because of health issues.... I don't have a job either... I'm a malpractice survivor with around 20-25% of my heart function left... Go for your SSDI... you will be turned down the first time... just appeal and keep on appealing. Find a different doctor if you can.... Me...I don't have insurance either... so I had to stop going to the dr and have been off all my medications for almost a year now.... Guest guest
Check and see if you are using products with aspartame (NutraSweet/Equal/E951,etc.) because they trigger fibromyalgia and panic attacks. Go through your pantry and your drugs and your vitamins and your chewing gum if you're using it. Take this to your physician. If its aspartame, you can get well. Guest guest
SSI and SSDI are two different insurances. My wife has SSI. She applied twice and retained a lawyer and waited 3 years before she was awarded SSI and a back payment of about $5000. The reason it is so hard to get is because it has no work record supporting it. SSI is a give-away. I have SSDI because I worked 40 years and then got disabled. I applied in July 2005 and started getting paid in Nov 2005 with Medicare and a drug plan thrown in to boot. All those "FICA" payments paid off apparently. I can understand your frustration. Being sick, hurting, is not a nice way to live. Your " doctor " and I use that term lightly, is so wrong to tell you that people with fibro should be working. Apparently, they have never had this disease. There is a way out though so don't despair. No it is not some magical way. It will take time but with information, you can help yourself. It will mean searching for remedies that are not going to appeal to your doctor because they do not realise how much these can help. Quite a number of years ago I was on allergy shots twice a week. When I was in my late 20's the doctor told me that my lungs were so bad that by the time I was 30 I would be on oxygen and I would not live to see 40. Ok so what were my options? I learned how to heal myself. I started taking mega vitamins, detoxifying, eating healthier. No it did not happen over night. It took time but I have passed the 40 mark by 23 years and am healthier that I was when under a doctors care. I now have dogs, and a bird which would not have been possible all those years ago. I also owne horses for a lot of years which just being near someone that had been close to a horse would have set off my allergies. So you see ... there is hope. It will depend on whether you want this badly enough to go against everything you have been taught......... doctors know..... They only know what they learned in school. They do not have any real idea of what the drugs they are telling you to take can do to you. The road ahead is yours to travel. All the best to you. Guest guest
hi i am a social worker ( unaffiliated with teh government) i am very good at locating services for people and do it all the time. all i need is the state you live in , and your county. your age would be very helpful. i am very sure you're husband just needs some time to process this issue. we sometimes forget how our illnesses or issues effect those that we love. i would apply for ssdi and ssi, once you're denied and you will be, get a lawyer. most work on contingency. this could take years so i would suggest seeing if your welfare agency has any programs for sick folks, in my state they do. call a church or the welfare office for food pantry listings , and clothes etc. i would then make a very immediate and serious decision to locate alternative therapies for your health . i know this is easier said tehn done when you're flat broke. maybe you could write a book about this experience and make some money doing that. good luck. andrea caroline <waves02 Sent: Monday, August 18, 2008 10:54:10 AMRe: How do you live without income?could you reach out to maybe a church group? or someone in the area that could give you some help maybe social services with the county...
