Is it infected or just ingrown ??? She prob needs a larger show size for starters most people are in the wrong size for them and then for any fungus or infection soak in hydrogen peroxide several times a day. elenikerasoglou <elenikerasoglou Sent: Sunday, September 7, 2008 9:49:37 AM Ingrown toenail Any practical advice? It's been a month; she (my 16 year-old daughter) has used Epsom salt soaks, even took Keflex (in despair) but no improvement. .. Thank you. Eleni

My son had a terrible problem with an infected ingrown toenail. One 'specialist'

that we took him to even wanted to cut off his toe! We solved the problem by

first soaking it in uncomfortably warm salt water followed by pulling out the

nail with an metal nail file and stuffing that area with small cotton pellets

soaked in peroxide 3 times a day.(2 during school)It took almost 6 months to

heal but he has had no more problems since and his nail grew back perfectly.

This has been over 20 years ago. My mother told me this remedy.

In addition to non stop peroxide soaks take large amounts of vit c and garlic, this is pretty general care and could in no way hurt her. *colloidal silver: but there is a lot of debate on ingesting it so I would stick with topical only just because we really do not know* Tea Tree: is anti fungal but care irritate some people skin* Muknuka Honey: anti-biotic, anti-fungal, I do not know any adversity and you can eat

it if you goggle you will find it is being used overseas as an approved medical treatment for antibiotic resistant issuesGood luck unfort my mother and husband have dealt with a lot of these fungus issues, many people believe it is a symptom of a greater problem and to address issues such as diet and intestinal balance with good bacteria. Hope this helpsjean white <free2waitTo:

Have you tried DMSO and MII Gel - these in combination really do work but

you will have to google to find them in your area. I would add tea tree oil

and or Lavender Oil to the toe once the above treatment is done - daily or

twice daily - soaking in the MII soap and neutraliser before the application

of the above - hot water - 40 mins

A few years ago I had constant trouble with ingrown toenails on my big

toes. It's so painful! I was willing to try anything. The doctor I

went to at the time had some of the best advice I've ever gotten from

a " western medicine " doctor. He said that toenails naturally want to

grow in toward your toe. He also said that it harkens back to our

cave man days when we (our ancestors) had to use their hands and feet

to claw and climb (not sure about that explanation). His solution is

to cut the nail straight across. Do not cut with the curve of your

toe. Then cut out a " v " shaped notch in the middle of the nail. It

takes some time for this to begin working and I know it looks funny,

but I haven't had any nail trouble ever since.
