How do you feel about Thanksgiving turkeys?

Okay I see your point, but organic meat that is raised free range and safe and they really are simple animals and do not know that they are being raised to be eaten by humans. I have been a vegetarian since 1960 but do on occasion eat poultry, and I have always eaten selected fish. I order it from a specialty supply house to insure it is from safe waters and not full of mercury and other heavy metals. Turkeys on the other hand are birds that are raised for the express purpose of being eaten on Thanksgiving, Hanukah, or Christmas. They are very good if you don't buy birds that are raised in torture. Free range birds that are slaughtered with care (yes such a thing is possible in the slaughter world) are good.

I do not adhere to eating meat, but if one means to enjoy organic free range meat no matter the source, good on you. Human beings do better with protein, I went 20 years with no protein and was deathly ill, (nearly died) I learned the hard way. Also beans and rice, 2 sources of protein bind together to form a complete protein. Just my two cents worth here. I realize there are many of you who are so against slaughtering animals for any reason but do you realize that is why they have farms to raise these animals and the safe ones are very good. Eating meat is not bad, but still I would not eat beef or pork in any form, diseased if you ask me, even organic is questionable.

Just my opinion but wanted to add to this post. Turkey day is a celebration from the Pilgrim Days, it's now a bad thing. Brings many families together and honors the Family, to me that is the best thing in this world. Blessing and love during this holiday season, may our differences be minor.
