Guest guest
I am interested in treating someone who has has lifelong cold feet and hands. This is a family member and I suspect I am too close to see the pattern! Maybe you all can help. He is a young man, 22, who was born with blue extremities, otherwise perfectly healthy.Currently pushing hard in life (work, school) and the pulses reflect(someehwat excess, full). Tongue has thin white coat , slight St crack, red tip, maybe very slightly swollen (this is from memory) or maybe a large tongue. He is hungry and thisty, bowels sometimes slightlyloose after eating. Geneeral demeanor is hot rather then cold, shen great, eyes bright, temper avid but even. Any help very welcome!
Guest guest
Hi Being924, A young man with vigorous health and only cold hands and feet with blue tinge probably is OK if there is no disorders - no symptoms. I would suggest not touching him at all. But if you think crack tongue, red tip and maybe... is a problem and have fun with him ? Excess-full pulses = healthy, robust. We have SI NI TANG for this condition, but I would not play with this formula. If this does not help, your family member may never trust you again. They are difficult to convince. So, when we do it , we must do it right in the first place -zero tolerance. Let's ask ourselves why only hands and feet getting cold, not the entire body ? Where is the warming energy ? Does it get trapped somewhere? Or is it too weak or too slow to get to its destination? Chest, 2 palms and 2 soles are 5 center. Center is the Heart. Heart Qi is moving and pumping blood and the body fluid throughout the body, but the extremities are too far. If the warm blood reach the extremities , there will be no bluish or cold symptoms there. If we think it is the Heart Qi problem. Ask for symptoms of palpitation, nervousness, frightening , insomnia, dull mind ...??? If we think it is the fire-warming function. Which energy warms up the entire body, or of 5 centers ? I think of the Kid-Yang eventhough there were yang symptoms. Kid-Yang " adrenalin, adrenal cortex, corticosteroids, or cortisone " . Kid-yang is the pilot, the heater, and the Heart-fire... It helps the Heart-fire to get stronger, spreading further. Longlife cold hands and feet is the body constitution. Kid yin and yang are the fundamentals, physical make up, the constitution. I am not looking into Organ disfunctions, because there was none. I am only looking into the warming function, and especially of the hands and feet. I have seen these cases but only with elderly. I used to be a geriatrist. Jin Gui Shen Qi Wan is the best in this case if I am not making wrong diagnosis ( 30 pills / 2x ). In a day or two you will see. Guest guest
Dera Dr Nam , Thank you so much for your thoughtful reading of this case! I am only a student now so this is REALLy helpful!? The K diagnosis is interesting as this young man was born with one undescended testicle (descended easily on its own in a few months). By?5 element thinking he is more in the Fire (first) /Wood/Earth realms, so iIhadnt thought to look to K for basic treatment. What needling might you suggest, if any? Again , Im really appreciating your generous and very useful inputs here. Great education! ______________________ AOL now offers free email to everyone.
