Guest guest
Hi all, There's a 25 year old male patient who started coming to me 1 week ago. He was diagnosed with acute myelogeneous leukemia first in 1998. It has gone into remission 2 times and he was admitted into the hospital November of last year with another reoccurence, including pericarditis and a spot in his lung, which his M.D.s have diagnosed as a fungal infection. His doctor tried 2 rounds of chemotherapy which were unsuccessful. He is now taking a antifungal and antibiotic medication. His blood is checked very frequently. His platelet count is really low and he's receiving a blood transfusion tomorrow. A few days ago his white blood cell count spiked and he started taking a mild chemotherapy pill yesterday. When he first came to me he had chest pain with a heavy tight chest which has since mostly resolved. His main symptoms now are fatigue and night sweats. His pulses feel tidal in both cun positions and the left guan. The left chi position is long and muffled. The left cun and guan also have a quivering sensation. His pulse is 96-100 bpm. His tongue is short, flabby and pale, with a moist thick yellow fur. I intend to see him once a week and have put him on a raw herb formula to clear heat from the upperjiao, nourish lung yin, and tonify qi and blood. I also referred him to a Qi Gong instructor in the area. Any of your suggestions, thoughts, and /or experiences with leukemia would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
