Yes, I used LI4 and will try pulling back next time. Can someone please advise if increase in migraines between treatments has happened with any of your patients? Thanks. Nancy L. Corsaro, L.Ac. Guest guest
Hi Nancy. I mentioned to pull back from the LI points because you seemed to say there was oppression or discomfort during the treatment. So try it. But also, I observed a 'self-twitching' or 'self shaking' of needles during treatment when there was no discomfort at all, nor any drug or pharmacuetical complications. One patient, as this was happening, described it as, " Wow, I can feel it into my brain. " She seemed very comfortable, even blissful, and just let it herself feel it. There was LI points near LI11 in that treatment. I let them, the needles, do their thing, while being close by, just in case. A half hour or more later, the needles stopped, and she came into normal awareness, and the treatment was done. It was a very good session. Happy. I've heard about this from a teacher, remember it mentioned in a 'classic', and wish I had a photographic memory so I could site the passage, but, no dice. Someone mentioned this as relating to the defensive qi level, and it makes sense as regards the metal, but during this positive situation, it seems a little more integrative; the nutritive and blood levels also coming into play. Interesting.
