Guest guest
http://realmilk.com/ This is where we found the farm we get our milk from. It is an old fashioned mom and pop farm. The WHERE link specializes in helping you find raw cow and goats milk in your state. (It might be a bit of a drive.) The other source is your farmers markets. You have to go and talk to people. Bear in mind that those who sell the raw milk don't want to get in trouble and keep things on the low down. There are different laws. In some states you can buy raw milk on the farm. Some states you have to buy a " share " in the cow/goat, and then just pay for their upkeep commiserate with the number of gallons of milk you want. *rolls eyes* but there are ways to do it. Guest guest
Also to legalize it, you can purchase a cow share. It means you are paying for a portion of the cow and the farmer takes care of the cow and delivers your milk as part of the cow share fee. Guest guest
If you are lucky enough to live near or own a farm and have access to raw milk and eggs, then it may be the only way. Where I come from, in Hungary, my uncle has a few acres of property and knows a few neighbors who sells him eggs and milk right out of the oven so to speak. Guest guest
What state are you in? Raw milk sales vary from state-to-state. Here in Ohio, we’re FINALLY allowed to sell raw milk (or pasteurized milk for that matter) for *pet and livestock use only* In Pennsylvania, you can go anywhere and legally buy raw milk.  When we sell our (goat’s) milk, we make it ABUNDANTLY clear that it is for pet milk only.  However, what the person does with that milk once they leave the farm, we have NO control over.  I raised my preemie son on unpasteurized goat’s milk and breast milk, and now at 16 months, he’s 35 pounds and strong and healthy as an ox! WA we used to be able to use this 'loop hole' in the law about raw milk. There were farms all over that were selling shares of goats and cows. Danged farm decided to use this loop hole that had no business doing so. They had a herd of over 30 cows! They got sloppy, and ended up contaminating their milk with E. Coli and got a good number of families sick. That made our law makers go in a few months later, find that loop hole, and clam it shut, tight! Now, you HAVE to go through a licenced dairy, end up paying out your nose for raw milk, and can't legally find it any other way, other than owning your own. Hence, we have our own little herd of Nigierian Dwarf, Kinder and Mini Lamancha goats. NOTHING like fresh, raw goat milk! You can't buy it at all without it coming from a licenced dairy. There are NO more loopholes in the WA state law concerning raw milk, other than that you can own your own animals, and drink their milk yourself. Soon, that could be illegal, too. Pasturization makes the goat taste come through, and kills all the good stuff: vitamins, minerals, bacteria (yes, GOOD bacteria). The result is a very imbalanced liquid that tastes HORRID. Fresh, clean, healthy raw goat milk is sweet, and very satisfying. My little goats have a very high butterfat content (6-9%) and it's like drinking melted ice cream. I skim their milk so as to use the cream for things like sour cream, butter, and creamer, so the drinking milk is lighter. Really, trust me, someone who has been milking goats for over 15 years, it's NOT the same as good, raw milk! Kim Blessed Farm, WA
