Guest guest
I have a question about Hydrogen Peroxide which I feel confident that someone on this board will be able to answer. I bought some 35% food grade hydrogen peroxide some time back. When I checked it recently; I found that the plastic bottle it came in was bulging on the bottom. What does this mean? Has it gone bad? I thought to transfer it to a glass jar but wondered if it could explode in a glass bottle? I will appreciate anyone knowledgeable in this matter for your reply to these questions. Thank you in advance. MBorup
Guest guest
No your hydrogen peroxide hasn't gone bad. The problem is gas has built up in the bottle. Just loosen the cap slowly and tighten it down again. I would wear gloves just to make sure none of peroxide gets on your hands. The peroxide needs to be stored in a cool dark place. I believe what I told you was listed in the book I have "The One-Minute Cure" by Madison Cavanaugh. Guest guest
FG hydrogen Peroxide is a high-power oxidizer. It will put pressure on the bottles it is packed in. It will also try to have some of it seep out. You can keep it longer in the freezer (it's freezing temperature is actually quite low). and that will help somewhat.I've had some for years, it is in plastic bottles, then double-bagged. I keep it in my deep freeze, and it is still liquid. If it freezes, then most of the peroxide may have degraded into water and oxygen.
