Guest guest
I have been doing this for several years now. I ferment milk with kefir grains (very probiotic). I take a good helping of old fashioned oatmeal, some wheat germ and cover with the fermented kefir, stirred in. Let ferment overnight and its ready to eat in the morning raw. I add whatever fresh fruit is availiable, or some of my own canned fruits, or sometimes just some mollasses, honey or maple syrup. I know, stevia works well also. The grains are nicely fermented. Seven grain cereal also works well though I will let it ferment 24 hours. Just thought I would pass this along, as I so enjoy it and so easy. Guest guest
You have to know someone who uses them, they grow a lot and so often times regular users will have too many. I have given my extras to pets in the past if no one else wanted the extras. Ask around locally. There is also a woman names Marilyn who calls herself the kefir lady, she actually mails hers to those who ask......you'll have to google her On Mon, Apr 26, 2010 at 3:02 PM, Kathy <vanokat wrote: Where can one get kefir grains? - " JohnP " <mtnwalker2 <herbal remedies > Saturday, April 24, 2010 3:27 PM {Herbal Remedies} My fermented breakfast >I have been doing this for several years now. Guest guest
All though I do not make kefir grains I've researched and approved them as very pro-biotic. Mad props to John for growing these things and teaching us how. Any pictures? ~B On 4/24/2010 3:27 PM, JohnP wrote: I have been doing this for several years now. Guest guest
Hi John, Where do you get your kefir grains? Thanks~ Lori "By preventing a free market in education, a handful of social engineers - backed by the industries that profit from compulsory schooling: teacher colleges, textbook publishers, materials suppliers, et al. - has ensured that most of our children will not have an education, even though they may be thoroughly schooled."– John Taylor Gatto He who cultivates his land will have plenty of food, but from idle pursuits a man has his fill of poverty.
