Guest guest
Hello Everyone! About 3 weeks ago, I woke up fine, made my bed and was suddenly in pain and couldn't move. It's a pain in my lower left back goes down my butt cheek to my leg. I read it could be sciatica. I have put ice on it and have felt relief but I thought after a week or so it would be gone but it flares up. Do I need to give it more time and continue with the ice and try taking it easy? Any advice is appreciated. Also, I took my blood pressure yesterday at the supermarket and it was 148 over 73. The chart said the 148 was stage 1 hypertension but the 73 was considered normal. Should I be concerned? I don't eat much salt at all, hardly eat any meat. I am 43 and active. I think I have a pretty good immune system as I don't get sick often. I take Omega 3-6-9, COQ10, Vit C, Calcium and just started on acidolpholus. I started taking drops of cayenne. Any other suggestions? Thanks so much!! Guest guest
Cause of Sciatica is normally bad circulation to the Sciatic Nerve. Once a man came to Doc with Sciatica and Doc said "let me have your wallet and I'll remedy your pain." The man was in such terrible agony and so the man handed over his fat wallet. His Sciatica was forever gone. Do you know why? The man sat all day at his desk and he was sitting on that wad of cash. It was cutting off his circulation. So look and see if anything is too tight. A belt, pants, underwear, too much weight, too much fat. Just something to consider. ~B IF YOU ALWAYS DO ,WHAT YOU'VE ALWAYS DONE , YOU'LL ALWAYS GET WHAT YOU ALWAYS GOT. Gotta Love this quote. Guest guest
Hi Gina, Definitely sounds like sciatica! Nothing hurts worse! You may have a bulged disk or a pinched nerve which is causing your sciatic nerve to flair up. You need to baby it for a few weeks, which means basically to do very little so that if the nerve is inflamed that it will have time to heal. This can take a few weeks to a few months, depending on the problem. The only way to know for sure what the problem is (if it does not go away or worsens) is through an MRI, which is horribly expensive. I blew a disk in my back over 3 years ago and was forced to get an MRI before a Chiro would touch me, even though I had 9 out of 10 symptoms for a blown L-5 disk. The FDA has ruled that this is the "only" way that this can be diagnosed, and when the $1500.00 bill came in, I paid for them to tell me I had a blown L-5 which I already knew as I'd told the Doc that this is what I had!!!! Can anyone say RIP-OFF???? I had to pay out-of-pocket for this, too, but I needed/wanted the Decompression Therapy I had discovered on the web. This too, was expensive as it is considered "experimental" and my insurance would not pay for it! I ended up forking out over $3300.00 (Between DC Therapy and MRI) just on my back in 2008, but the Decompresison Therapy did help me tremendously! It took about 6 weeks before I noticed my pain abating (I'd already been in pain for about 15 months!), and having this therapy took me back to about 97-98% of my former self. It was worth the money, though I'd liked to have foregone the MRI as the old way of diagnosing (through symptoms) works! Guest guest
I take a combination of cayenne, hawthorne and vitamin E, fish oil 2400 mg twice a day, limit my salt intake and along with walking, it keeps my blood pressure pretty normal, as for the sciatica could you have moved wrong and moved something in your back out of alignment? When I do that I see the chiropractor. Keep rosemary by your garden gate. Plant roses and lavender for luck. Guest guest
Thank you for all the advice. Thankfully yesterday I felt relief and today even better. I guess I twisted something that day. I also bought Hawthorne today and will add that to my other supplements. And I am committed to adding more exercise as well. Thanks Again! Gina In a message dated 4/27/2010 2:50:41 P.M.
