Dear Senator Ige,

 

I am writing to urge you schedule and support Resolution SR13 and Bill SB576

in your health committee to ban Aspartame.

 

I am one of a growing legion of consumers who has found Aspartame both

ineffective at promoting weight loss and unhealthy in a number of regards.

As a concerned US citizen, I cannot sit back and watch as others are

poisoned by a chemical allowed in their food which has been repeatedly

demonstrated unhealthy. There is an epidemic of obesity and diabetes in

America that has not been helped by prolific use of Aspartame, and there are

many people with symptoms of multiple sclerosis, that clears up when they

avoid Aspartame.

 

Where I live in Japan, people have long been aware of problems with

Aspartame, and although it has been allowed in a few beverages such as Diet

Coke and Diet Pepsi, their sales are minor compared to those of unsweetened

beverages such as green tea. Few people in Japan are even aware that

Ajinomoto is producing Aspartame, and they would be appalled to learn about

their company's political lobbying activities overseas.

 

Please listen to the voices of the victims and move ahead with legislation

to redress this important issue.
