Germs in the Gut May Lead to Obesity Posted by: "Misty" misty8 mistyrainbow3 Sat Mar 6, 2010 3:42 am (PST) Germs in the Gut May Lead to Obesityhttp://www.godlikeproductions.com/news/Breaking_News/15696-Germs_In_The_Gut_May_Lead_To_ObesityTopNews 2010-03-05A report by researchers on Thursday revealed that germs in the gut might be the reason for obesity and other health related problems. The report published in the journal Science said that certain bacteria have the tendency to increase appetite as well as incite bowel conditions like Crohn's disease and colitis.Andrew Gewirtz of Emory University in Atlanta said, "Previous research has suggested that bacteria can influence how well energy is absorbed from food, but these findings demonstrate that intestinal bacteria can actually influence appetite".Researchers found that a lean mouse had become obese when it was given gut bacteria from fat mice. It also developed metabolic syndrome, unhealthy cholesterol levels, high blood pressure and insulin resistance. However, if the food intake was restricted, it was no longer obese but remained insulin-resistant."People are getting obese because they're eating more, but it suggests the reason they're eating more may not simply be that calories are cheap and available", Gewirtz said. "The reason they're eating more may be an increased appetite resulting from changes in intestinal bacteria". Re: Cayenne peppers Posted by: "Renee" gaiacita gaiacita Sat Mar 6, 2010 5:49 am (PST) :-) Cayenne is what ALL peppers are called--it's the name for the capsasianin the peppers. It's like the family name, your last name. Then everyonehas their own first name, which are the names you see in the grocerystore--jalapeno, poblano, habanerro, etc. Those names just basically tell you which branch of the family and heat thepepper has. The habs are the hottest. So you can get any of those peppers (any pepper actually) and have cayennepeppers. Your trick is to find the same type as your friend was growing foryou. Shape is one way, though there can be many different heat values inthe same shape. Like there are hot banana peppers (which are long skinnypeppers) or mild banana peppers. Samala, Renee ---- There were several kinds that look suspiciously like Cayenne, but just to grab something, thinking it might be the right thing isn't a game I wish to play! So I take about a spoon full before I eat my food. A farmer friend raises them for me, and I grind them into powder and keep it in the fridge. I grind them myself because that way the powder is fresh and I can make sure there are no moldy ones in the mix. This last summer, the farmer's pepper crop failed totally, and today, I finally ran out of pepper. I thought I'd go to the Mexican food store across town to see if they would have some. Well, they had lots and lots of peppers of all kinds, but nothing labeled "Cayenne". The manager didn't even know the word "Cayenne", they didn't even know the Mexican pronunciation of the word. They must be called by another name in Mexico. There were several kinds that look suspiciously like Cayenne, but just to grab something, thinking it might be the right thing isn't a game I wish to play!My question is: What would Cayenne pepper be called in Mexican?John Garber------------ --------- --------- ------«¤»¥«¤»§«¤»¥«¤»§«¤»¥«¤»§«¤»¥«¤»§«¤»¥«¤»§«¤»¥«¤«¤»¥«¤»§«¤»¥«¤»§«¤»§ - PULSE ON 21st CENTURY ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE! §http://groups. / group/Health_ and_HealingSubscribe send email to: - DETOX WITH ALL NATURAL PURE GREEN CALCIUM BENTONITE CLAY USED INTERNAL/EXTERNAL http://clayadvantage.com/THE OPEN LINE NEWSPAPER, HEALTH NEWS, SPIRITUAL, ENVIRONMENT, ETC. http://WWW.THEOPENLINE.ORGRELAXATION TECHNIQUE FOR CHRONIC PAIN, PTSD + OTHER ISSUES THAT TROUBLE YOU. http://relaxationhe als.webs. comDISCLOSURE:Any information here in is for educational purpose only; it may be news related, purely speculation or SOMEONE'S OPINION.
