Guest guest
I can't say with certainty about safety in pregnancy. What I do know and will share is that kelp, a sea vegetable, is high in iodine, a raw material for thyroid hormone. Kelp works well for those with " regular " hypothyroidism. However, if the individual has Hashimoto's hypothyroidism, the kelp will stimulate the thyroid to work and the body will produce antibodies that will attack, in an effort to shut down, the thyroid gland. Symptoms then get worse. So, IMVHO, it is important to know if the individual has antithyroid antibodies before supplementing.
