Guest guest
Hello, A few months back (it seems) I remember reading some interesting press about a study showing that IUI wasn't all that effective in dealing with infertility. Does anyone have a link to that research? I have a patient that I would like share that information with. Many thanks in advance. David Toone, L.Ac. Guest guest
The research you mention was on IVF. The press was that acupuncture wasn't that helpful - but it's not what the study said. The study actually concluded that " sham " acupuncture is not a proper control, since you see an effect with surface stimulation as well as needle penetration. The overall live birth rates are not different between sham and " real " acupucnture, and both are higher than without. Hope this helps.
