Hi Michael

most of my work is oncology-related. In a 'past life' I was an RN, and

cared for any number of folk in similar situations in neurology units.

Treat the man you see before you, and 'forget' about the tumours.

Use your TCM training, and experience so far; it's all you have to do;

go back to the absolute basics.

If this young man is by now terminal, hopefully he also has a strong,

loving, organized bunch of other health professionals, family and

friends to help care for him.

Acupuncture definitely has an important role here; nothing fancy, no

big treatment goals here, keep it simple, and don't try to address too

many different things - your patient will tell you what's most

important to him.

Skip the herbs; way too problematic, as he's likely to be on a number

of pharmaceuticals.

Go gently, and go slowly.

Michael, Margi's advice is right in line with modern CM cancer tx protocol.

Treat what is in front of you. If herbs open then then research and tailor it,

but keep in mind above, what's in front of you, don't sweat it too badly, Margi

seems a good ally. You care.

Hi. There is a book titled, 'Cancer Treatment with Fu Zheng Pei Ben

Principle', from Fujian Science and Technology publishing house. ISBN

7-5335-0581-6.

It to me is very informative, and integrative with

western care. From the etiology and classification of cancers and

tumors, the basis of FZPB in CM, diet and nutrition, qigong do's and

don'ts, advanced and symptomatic palliative care, and head to toe

evaluation of various related diseases, with tested herbal details. Not

as much acupuncture, but the points chosen could be implied by the

syndrome differentiation for the herbal Tx. Andwhat's in front.

I found this book in Chinatown. Let me know what you think. Thanks.
