Guest guest
Hello, I'm looking for advice regarding pump- cup sest. Some of them look pretty cheap and the plastic looks thin, like it may be uncomfortable for the pt. Any suggestions on products your are currently using. Thanks, DV
Guest guest
DV, The Korean-made ones work really good (glass) ones. Dong Bang makes a set and also one available at Lhasa OMS ... omsmedical.com Just don't soak them... because the rubber around the glass can crack (break up) with soaking. I only use them for dry cupping, not wet cupping. K On Sun, Mar 1, 2009 at 6:52 PM, dmvitello01 <dmvitello wrote: > Hello, > > I'm looking for advice regarding pump- cup sest. Guest guest
Hi. I like glass cups. Holding in it for 3-5 seconds, hemostat with a burning alcohol soaked cotton ball then onto the skin. Thier lip is the smoothest. and w a little linament or coconut oil, you can move the cup around like gua sha or moving cupping. The vacuum type, and piston type are harder to clean and not as smooth or easy to retain a vacuum. --- On Sun, 3/1/09, <johnkokko wrote: <johnkokko Re: Cupping sets Chinese Medicine Sunday, March 1, 2009, 11:50 PM DV, The Korean-made ones work really good (glass) ones. Guest guest
There are a few advantages to vacuum cupping.... 1. You can work faster 2. You can standardize the vacuum lift (4, 5, 6 pumps etc) for bilateral cupping 3. There's no risk of burning skin The pros to glass are: 1. It's more exotic and " traditional " 2. There could be a warmth from the fire vacuum which warms up the cupping area Is there really a big difference as far as efficacy? K On Sun, Mar 1, 2009 at 9:16 PM, mystir <ykcul_ritsym wrote: > Hi. Guest guest
Depends, so much more depends on the operators' subtlety, than the tool. I'm a techno freak, i play with it all, but have a preference, that's all. There should be an acupuncturist on every block, by law. With student loan forgiveness, and magic lunchboxes. Seriously tho John my friend, I'm fast, I can see the relative bilateral balance by how the skin reacts, I never burnt anybody(unless I wanted too), and I like simple, exotic, elemental sometimes. Wanna talk about cupping and plum blossom? (I always look to see what you're going to say John). Glass is slippier, and more cleanable, I like the feel. Maybe we should have a cupping contest, like a hot wing eating contest, a wingding. That kind of lightheartedness might make points with the public. Guest guest
Besides, 2 dozen years from now, when the population is reduced to a third, the workers living in massive block houses will be minimally educated, and fed hamster pellets and electrosleep. These issues will be moot. (oh crap, did I really say that?) Depends, so much more depends on the operators' subtlety, than the tool.
