Guest guest
Has anyone out there worked with a business coach or taken business classes that were helpful? Who? At this point there are many choices and they seem to be growing every day. thanks Steve
Guest guest
I have worked with several - NO RESULTS other than I was out several hundreds of dollars. The best advice I've had is to meet as many people every day as possible and give them a short spiel on acupuncture and its effectiveness, hand them a card, get their contact information if possible and send them a followup email, post card or short, short letter. If you want more specific information contact me off list by phone. Good luck. Guest guest
I work with a business coach who is absolutely wonderful and she does work long distance as needed. I am in California and she is in Idaho. This is her facebook http://www.facebook.com/people/Julie-Larson/1278236736 and her contact number is 208-867-0790. I am very impressed with her as she really helped me push through some stuff that was hard for me, without making me feel bad in any sort of way, she was very supportive. She also does a lot of work with kids and has founded EYE Club - a club designed to teach kids how to be entrepeneurers, it is nice to see people who give back. She is currently writing a book as well. Last but not least she will work with you on pricing, she is not exorbinant like many coaches out there and really just wants to help people. Can you tell Im a fan, lol?! I also have purchased some of Kevin Daughtery (sp?) ebooks - I have really liked them. Guest guest
I have worked with 2 companies, Y2K and Practicebuilder. I learned a lot and it helped me. I think there are 2 types of consulting, some that are based on ideas and you, they usually emphasis having a mission, a purpose, coming to terms with your beliefs, etc. The second type is more practical, get more press coverage, design more effective ads, etc. I think you will do better looking for a coach or consulting company if you know what type you prefer. I am very much aligned with the second type, very pragmatic, very doing oriented, and that kind of training worked for me, but it really depends on who you are. I liked Points for Profit; I thought it was well balanced, and based on valid experience in the marketplace. One of the authors is in Oregon and offers coaching. Two things have helped me in practice building. One was just to stay determined to become a better marketer, I read every book, and attended just about any training I could get my hands on, and I didn't let up once I made good money, I knew I could do better and get a practice that was even easier to manage, etc. The second thing that helped me, was working in different settings and seeing what they did right and wrong, I worked with MDs, with another, very successful acupuncturist, in a hospital based setting, taught in two schools, etc. It all added up. And I would never NEVER pledge my future earning to someone who promises $200,000 in take home pay; it's not that hard to make.
