Guest guest
Hi, anybody use Biofreeze? What's exactly in it other than ilex (yerba mate) and menthol and alcohol? How does it compare to Zheng gu shui, Tiger balm and others in use? Thanks, K -- Turtle Island Integrative Health TCM Review director CA State Board Prep Courses www.tcmreview.com
Guest guest
John, I have used it and find it amounts to about the same as most liniments. Unfortunately, i don't have it near me at the moment (not in my office), but the ingredients were pretty straight forward, there was no PEG or anything rancid (ie. chemical) that i remember. One strange thing was however that they list the herbs as " non-active " ingredients (one ingredient i do remember is Hypericum, which i like to have in my liniments). It is, as it says, cooling. I use it with inflammatory issues, acute sprains and the like. Similar to White Flower, but has a different feel to it, more emollient and therefore good to use with myofascial release work. I have a friend who is a chiro who uses it primarily because she can get samples and hand them out to patients. She has been handing out the samples for well over a year now, i think they must give her boxes of them.
