Why no formal testing? Cause they didn't wanna use them in cosmetics or perfumery? Many are used in foods .. have FDA GRAS classification. Some have been tested but not FORMALLY. Like Linden Blossom .. women have rubbed blossoms in their hair for centuries .. villagers still perform crude hydrodistillation using pots with water in which materials are placed and a convex cover that allows the condensed oils to drip down into a small container in the center. And Greek Sage has been used for generations as a perfume. I myself stick a drop or three under my collar sometimes. I submit the following qualifications prior to listing the oils. 1. This is NOT a complete list. There are many more. 2. Some oils might have been later tested .. if anyone has info on this I would appreciate knowing it .. others would too. 3. Some that have not been FORMALLY tested have statements like, " At low dose appear to be non-toxic, non-irritant, non sensitizing. Is this adequate testing? Probably all we're gonna get. 4. The oils are not in alphabetical order because the listing is in the order by Botanical Name .. I don't want to retype those names.
