Guest guest
And thank you from me as well. This information is exactly what I need right now. All the research I've done has only confirmed the uneasiness I've had in my gut from my first intro to YL (and to EOs btw). Like Pam I have people close to me who are dedicated YL users and it's is bound to alienate us as I remove myself from the situation. Alas, integrity and good sense got the best of me and while it would be fun to live in ignorant bliss, I just can't do it....and it doesn't seem as if my friend (using YL for 5 years vs my 2 months) wants to be educated and I don't want to insult her at this point...as she dreams of " changing the world " and gaining mucho residual income to boot. Anyway, thanks again. I found my answers on skin absorption (or lack thereof) too btw. I guess I'd like to see reports of actual harm done using YL (or any other) eos neat..also with ingesting eos...that'll be my next search... Now I'm ready to move on, continue learning real solid information, using quality oils and herbs and just having fun and being healthy! Thanks to all for good information and kindness...it's all a bit overwhelming with differing viewpoints, but such is life. All my best, Terri
Guest guest
just a final (well, maybe not ;->) word on the subject for now anyway - I just wanted to really thank Butch publicly for taking the time to go thru that link listed as a rebuttal by YL on the quackwatch site. That took a lot of time and I know he is not just hanging around with nothing to do but answer questions on YL! I had my concerns from the getgo on the Quackwatch site and I really hate to send anyone to that site to check anything out - especially since it seems so obvious that he (Barrett) has a vendetta against all things naturala - but then reading the rebuttal from YL ... well, that was like wading thru my neglected winter horse stalls with NO BOOTS ON! What a quagmire of spin! I wish I knew who the real 'doctor' was that investigated YL but only because I am so concerned about my mom who is so heavily into YL oils and has so many people under her and is adamant about 'her' oils vs 'mine' ... sigh.... there is just no talking to her about it - so guess maybe that's where it needs to end... I just have no peace of mind though as she uses so many oils neat, does the RDT to whoever she can get on her $500 table (no she doesn't charge, but still....) she's constantly putting cinnamon oil on her hand and licking it off to get a 'high' ... at least that's what I call it... anyway, thanks again Butch for putting some clarity into the spin doctor YL spits out - oh yeah - I did write YL and asked them some questions on where and how GY got his 'credentials' that he uses behind his name as I 'would like to investigate that for further education myself'.... they wrote me back... and in part said: " At the time that Gary attended Bernadean University, there was not an accredited naturopathic college in the United States. Many of Gary's associates recommended that he become credentialed, as he was working in his clinic in California at the time. He checked around and found that Bernadean was the university that most of the Naturopaths had received their degree from. After four years of correspondent courses, Gary received his Doctorate of Naturopathy degree. During the time Gary attended Bernadean, Dr. Kadans was in the process of accrediting the university. However, he was not successful. After his passing, his wife and a secretary tried to keep the school alive. However, they did not have the education nor the skill set to do so. The university was eventually turned into a mail order diploma mill and is now under investigation. To answer your questions, Gary is a Naturopath. However, he is not licensed to practice medicine, as Bernadean is not considered an accredited institution in the state of Utah. " now....I ask you ... how could he receive a Doctorate of Naturopathy DEGREE if it is NOT an accredited institution... to take off the spin.... yep....it's a mail order diploma.....just wondering ... mmmm >>> 4 <<<< years???? mmm well, I'm putting that baby to rest...thanks again Butch Blessings, Pam TLC Naturally - Pure Essential Oils & Soaps http://www.tlcnaturally.com E Web Express - Design & Hosting Service http://www.ewebexpress.com
