Hey Andrea,

>>Naaa .. I wasn't coming after Sherry either .. but I have observed group

My pleasure .. for whatever it was I did. ;-)

> what kind of condition the cookies would reach you in... may be an

Might .. this time of year things are slow .. even to APO addresses ..

but the thought is appreciated. Fact is, I need to stay off cookies for

another month or so to be able to hit my weight goal. I am surrounded

by bakeries here .. Turkish pastries are delicious and dirt cheap.

> Yes, there is some good eatin' there in the Buda and the Pest.

Dang betcha on that .. especially in the little alley way places .. the

Mom & Pop places where the Hungarians eat.

> Didn't you find any of those little cookies there?

Found all kinds of nice pastries there .. reminded me a bit of Turkey

but they do share many things cultural.

> I knew you would encounter some Guylash and sausage (Hurka? which is

> blood sausage, *NOT* one of my favorite things in this world -blech!)

Naa .. I am not crazy about Hurka either .. liver, blood and lung. The

Turks have a similar sausage with all kinds of bits and pieces of the

inside of an animal minus the blood. Don't like that one either. ;-)

The Hungarians have super nice smoked pork sausages and salami .. good

as I've found in all of Europe. And like the Germans, they use them as

the main meat course in a meal. Coming from Turkey where pork is all

imported and danged expensive, I ate enough pork sausage and salami in a

week in Budapest to feed a platoon of paratroopers. ;-)

> Aah, I haven't traveled to Hungary though. Maybe some day soon...

Good Lawd Willing .. its but a hop from here. One advantage to living

here is that almost every country .. save the Far East and the USA .. is

a hop and skip from Turkey. Round trip to European and North African

countries is about like round trip from New York City to Los Angeles.

> Have a good one!

> Andrea

And you .. and keep smiling. :-) Butch

PS: Gonna have a friend joining in a few hours .. a medical doctor from

New York. We have medical types on the list now but for this or that

reason they have elected to remain in a lurk mode .. and though this

lady and I have never discussed medical issues I expect she might get

involved to some degree .. from time to time.

Hey Butch Man,

Ok - this looks like a sweet enough of a post to start with..

>>Turkish pastries are delicious and dirt cheap.<<

Can you bring some " sam fistik ezmesi " next time you visit MD? I miss

it so much!

For all -- Butch has a way of pulling me back to this list year after

year. I sort of became a hermit after I left IDMA and Butch has not

lost faith that if I'd ever really come back to an AT list again, it

would be this one -- good going Butch :-)

Be well,

Sevi

P.S: Butch did you get my e-mails (2) I sent today?
