Guest guest
I hope you'll forgive me for passing on another weird remedy that seems to work for lots of people even though I've not tried it myself, since I don't suffer from the problem. Anyway, the same source that told me about the Vicks for nail fungus came up with " Soap Therapy " for restless legs. You put a bar of any kind of soap except Dove or Dial under the bottom sheet down by your legs in bed. Don't know why it works, but many claim it does. In any case, it couldn't hurt, eh? Guest guest
Hiya Mary, You know, I just had someone tell me this one this past weekend at a craft show--I thought they were nuts but I'm about to go stick a bar of soap under my sheet--anything to help, mine drives me nuts too and I'm sick of clonazepam. It helps but I get tired of living on medications. It's good to hear backup on something that at first seems very very very very strange. Anyone got a clue on Earth why this would work? The man I heard it from swears it does. Guest guest
And again, I hope you will all forgive me for yet one more weird one. My mum, has suffered RLS for many years and found relief by putting camphor balls under the sheets down by her feet. Thanks Mary for jogging my memory of it Tania Mary wrote; > I hope you'll forgive me for passing on another weird remedy > that seems > to work for lots of people even though I've not tried it > myself, since I > don't suffer from the problem. Guest guest
Hey all! I have read part of the posts on restless leg syndrome..... I suffered from RLS while pregnant. I have also suffered from it occasionally since then. What helped me was a relaxation technique....and I honestly cannot remember who told me about it.... perhaps my OB/GYN??? Anyway, when you first go to bed, lie on your back. Making a conscious effort, tighten your muscles, either from your toes up....or from your head down. I always worked from the toes up. Moving as little as possible, clinch the muscles in your toes, feet, calves and up to your thighs. Continue on up, to tighten your behind, your abs, your chest muscles, arms..... you get the picture. Then after you have those muscles tightened up, slowly relax the muscles, the opposite way of the tightening. Continue to relax, until you get all the way back down to your toes. I even sometimes do this when I've had a particularly stressful day. It will take some practice to do the full body this way....and until you can do it, you can always do the tightening/relaxing in sections. Do the toes, feet and legs. Then concentrate on the trunk of the body, then the arms, and then the neck and face. Sometimes adding a bit of potassium to the diet will help as well. 1 banana a day tends to help my legs too, when they start acting up. Hope this helps someone!
