Hi Jan,

Sounds like it .. huh? The business of the South losing the war due to

a failure in the Black Eye Pea crop sorta keyed me to his being fulla

bull. The truth is .. we ran out of Collard Greens. ;-)

I know that my mother and grandfather .. likely even before them ..

always had Black Eye Peas on New Year.

Wouldn't work for me .. I don't leave no Black Eye Peas, Collard Greens

or Cornbread on my plate. ;-)

I bet you are right. I expect it goes back a few hundred years.

Good it is and glad I am they were happy with them. :-P

Lawdy Mercy .. all this tawk about chow done got this here o' kuntry boy

kinda hongry. Tis around 1:30 in the morning here but lucky I am that

exactly across the street from my apartment building are three each 24

hour Doner/Iskender Kebab restaurants .. side by side .. which I have

never figured out .. and a half block to the left is another restaurant

that serves home cooked meals. Reckon I need to mosey over and have a

big bowl of garlic laden Iskembe (tripe) soup .. a bowl of yoghourt .. a

plate full of Iskender Kebab and a Coban (shepherd) salad. Yep .. outta

here I am now. ;-)
