Guest guest
Hi, Sorry for have been such a stranger, but life get's in the way of enough computer time from time to time. That is; trying to come up with some new blends, trying to learn about the art of MMU (mineral make-up), the plans for my upcoming going-back-to-work rehablitation PLUS having the whole family at home for Christmas leave. I'm looking for a online resource for finding broad brochade type of ribbons (I can't figure out the right English word), that I can use for covering up a seam on my brand new bordeaux colored velvet drape. Yep, I have sewn it myself - all 12 sqm of it (puh, giuess if my arms and neck ached like h-ll after pushing/drawing that bastard through the sewing machine back and forth) and nope, I'm not starting up a brothel ROFLOL. But we have it to screen of the living room at home-movie times :-) I was into the central of Stockholm today and visited two specialist stores, but they didn't have what I was looking for at all :-( So now my hope is to find somethin on the web that I can order instead. Hope all the handy/crafty people here have any idea on where to turn. Happy New Year to everyone and Fragrant Blessings, Ylva

The other word you would search under is " jacquard " or jacquard ribbon. Here are a few online sources for some brocade ribbons... hope you find exactly what you need! http://www.florilegium.com/mokuba%20brocade%20ribbons.htm http://www.mjtrim.com/search.aspx?query=brocade http://www.jaytrim.com/CGI-BIN/LANSAWEB?WEBEVENT+L684732351782176AB9DF537+M36+EN\ G Andrea
Guest guest
Have you looked in fabric store ? That's where I would try first. If they don't carry it, they will probably be able to give you some ideas as to where to find some. Or maybe find some fabric you like that will go with your drape & the rest of the room, and cut it into strips. Kind of like making your own ribbon/trim. Sorry I can't be more help but I'm not thinking clearly right now. One of our dogs went to the Rainbow Bridge earlier today and I'm not dealing with his passing as well as I thought I would. Guest guest
Paula - I'm so sorry to read about your loss. If it was me, I wouldn't be able to think a straight thought if anything happened to my darling Fiona. I do have looked in fabric stores and one of them, suggested these two specialist stores. Thanks to Andrea, I did find some stuff that really looks interesting. Now I just have to show them to Dh and then see if they ship internationaly. Go take care of yourself and your family. Guest guest
Ylva, Maybe if you look at shops that sell to decorators, or upholstery people? I can imagine what kind of brocade you might want, wonder if it is still available where they sell Christmas notions? Use the phonebook and call around..
