Guest guest
I deal with light acne STILL (I'll be 25 soon)... I'm so ready to be over it. One thing that's helped a lot is cutting out all the products. Most of them have ingredients that irritate and/or clog pores, even the ones that say non-comedogenic and/or are sold for specifically for acne. I notice that when I'm at school--clean air, clean (and no chlorine/fluoride) water, organic whole foods diet, my acne pretty much disappears (since ceasing with all the cleansers)... and still comes back a bit every time I go home for break. Some things to try: - 3% food grade hydrogen peroxide, smoothed on with a cotton ball. - masks made from green clay and raw, organic apple cider vinegar. Might add some essential oils if you like. - Crab Apple flower essence... added to a lotion or facial spritz... hey, and added to that mask. Acne can be linked to the liver, so that may be something to pay attention to... she could see a Chinese herbalist, or do some liver cleansing on her own. She could also contact Linda at info -- she might be able to get a phone consultation... Linda works with her clients through diet, flower essences, and cell salts. -Josh >Hello, >I have a friend who suffers from really bad acne >does anone know of a good cure ? Guest guest
Dear Teresa, What do you mean when you say your friend has " tried everything " ? What is your friend doing in the way of exercise, diet, and mental health? I remember the horror of adolescent acne all too well. It always eased off in summer when school was out. Fresh air, sunshine and the lack of stress all helped. Has your friend tried zinc, and betacarotenes? One of the best things to do for acne is to clean out the gut and the liver. This goes for a lot of health problems of course. I heard of several cases of bad acne that found relief from massive amounts, and I mean massive, of probiotics. Sometimes people with acne that bad try tetracyclin, which is just deadly for the gut beasties. Farming the gut with good beasties is one of the basic things to do for health, and it won't hurt, that's for sure. One good place to find out about probiotics is the website of Natren: http://natren.com They make a superb formula, but I have been told that you can get it cheaper here: http://vitacost.com for discount in Natren's Healthy Trinity @ 35.00/bottle Ien in the Kootenays ******************************* Stop. Guest guest
My daughter just turned 16 and used to have really bad acne. My husbands two sisters have that heavy pitting that you see on faces that have suffered from severe acne. DH and I were concerned that this would happen to her, because it was getting really bad - deep infections with her entire cheeks cherry red from inflammation. Poor thing was getting all kinds of suggestions from well meaning strangers, like " why don't you wash your face? " harrumph. So, we took her to the doctor, who prescribed antibiotics and hinted that she might need contraceptives to keep it down. We didn't want to try this extreme measure without checking out all the options. Okay, to make a long story shorter, we found light therapy. She uses it religiously, sometimes an hour per day. It's not so bad because she reads books and listens to the radio while she does it. Now her face is much better. It's not like a baby's bottom, but the deep infections are gone and the redness has disappeared. We're happy that she doesn't have to take heavy duty systemic drugs. She won't have the pitted face when she grows up, that's all I'm looking for. Here is a link to the light we got for her: http://www.homephototherapy.com/acne/acne-default.htm I can't remember where we purchased it, we bought it over the internet. It's been a year and we haven't had to replace the tubes yet. We got the one on top, the Verilux Happy Skin unit. I hope your friend finds relief from her embarrassing condition.
