Guest guest
Ien, Do you make your own SB? I've been looking for a simple recipe, but I can't find one. I used to use Sweden Bitters with dry herbs from the Health Food store. A ready-to-go package. I have never tried to collect the whole daunting line. Since I have this Rainforest Herb business, it is so much easier to just grab a bottle of Envirozon or grab my special tea if I want to do something nice for my liver in between dandelion seasons. But, you have inspired me to dig up Maria Treben's recipe. Here it is. I wouldn't call it simple! Sweden Bitters 10 gram aloe* 5 gram myrrh 0.2 gram saffron 10 gram senna leaves 10 gram camphor** 10 gram rhubarb roots 10 gram zedvoary roots 10 gram theriac venezian 5 gram carline thistle roots 10 gram Angelica roots *Wormwood powder may be used instead **Only natural Chinese camphor
Guest guest
I tincture my own Swedish Bitters. It' s almost impossible to get all the herbs in the US that are needed, for it's a European formula. Google for Swedish Bitters and you should find someone who sells them. Dr.Theiss, had the permission to sell the herbs from Maria Treben. I know the Merz Apothecary in Chicago has them, their URL is smallflowers.com C-M
