Guest guest
On this very first day of the new year, I urge you all to go to 's main page and make a contrubution to one of the help organizations. There are over 150.000 people dead so far and the damages in the area is beyond comprehension. Thailand is one of the Swedes favorite vaccation spots this time of the year, so our contry is struck hard by this disater. So far around 3500 Swedes are missing and 8-900 people are confirmed dead. There have been some rescue flights coming back early this morning, with small kids that have lost their parents. All the flags are on halfmast here today and I can't say that I found it in my heart, to celebrate the New Year in any exesive way, instead I made a donation to the Swedsih Red cross. I find it simply amazing, how people can be so unsensitive at a time like this, and let their money quite literaly go up in smoke (=fireworks) instead of donating them to Red Cross or any other organization. We have neighbours that sent of a huge amount of fireworks - imgaine how much good that does?? OK, I get of my soap box right now ;-) But remember - all the world came to your aid and support when 9.11 happened, so now is time to give a little bit back, don't you think? I don't intend to hurt anyones feelings by saying that, but just to shake you up a bit and get you going to these doantions sites :-) Fragrant Blessings, Ylva
Guest guest
Ylva, I've ben reading in the German papers, how many Swedes are missing and feared dead in Thailand, also read about little Hannes. A little young German girl, who seems to have lost both parents and siblings was flown out yesterday. It breaks my heart. I did not celebrate, spend the money on UNICEF. American's are donating in record amounts, shaming our official's to immediately upping their commitment to the area. After 9/11, the aromatherapy people from IDMA and NAHA, did a great job to set up volunteer booth to work on rescuers, relieving their stress. I wonder if something like that is going on in the Near East. It's such a volatile area anyhow when it comes to politics, that I hope all countries will work well together under the banner of peace and friendship. Shows you who is in charge, Mother Nature, no weapons can beat her.. Why God called home so many people , I don't know... C-M
Guest guest
Hi all, I received this yesterday, and thought I would share it with you here. Michelle Peace in Action: A Tsunami of Love A global tsunami of compassionate love is healing the global tsunami of destructive fear. After the Dec. 26 Indian Ocean tsunamis and earthquakes, we see peace in action, everywhere. Peace is... ....the US and the UN coordinating unprecedented global relief efforts; ....militaries laying down their weapons to pick up shovels to rebuild devastated communities; ....the media reporting stories of courage, generosity, kindness and miracles; ....strangers caring for orphaned children and injured survivors; ....medical experts providing the best treatments and supplies for the injured; ....corporations donating the use of their jets to deliver crucial water, food, tents, clothes. ....elected politicians from many countries working together for the common good of all citizens; ....monetary donations from the wallets of the humblest to the richest; ....a tsunami of billions of prayers from citizens of all religious and spiritual practices. ....the US Defense Department transforming its spy satellites to measure the scope of the tsunami and help workers manage their relief efforts. In his book " Climbing the Blue Mountain " , Eknath Easwaran explains how we can change the way we look at the world and how selflessness spreads. " If we learn to be selfless, we will become rich. Then we may choose to become philanthropists. We may even achieve the highest level of philanthropy, becoming one of those who like Gandhi, " make their whole lives a gift to the world. " Each one of us, as a local and global citizen, is realizing that we are indeed a gift to the world. As 2005 begins, I thank the six billion members of our extraordinary Earth family, for being Peace in Action, for being an unprecedented tsunami of compassionate love. Hugs of peace...Terri Mansfield, Arizona Regional Coordinator; Department of Peace Campaign 602-885-9058 www.azdopcampaign.org *****Peace begins within*****

I am an American and I give to charities when I can. I really had to give some thought to the after thoughts that you gave. You know, after you got of your soap box. I think that these incidents are TOTALLY DIFFERENT. There is no comparison, man committed 9/11 and Mother Nature cause the tsunami. Please understand I personally am struggling with the numbers and the amount of devastation there. The world mourns all who are lost because no one wants to have this happen to anyone anywhere EVER. Please don't think that I am trying to engage anyone on this topic. This is just my observations.
