Guest guest
Hi Ien, There are several things you can do. The most common way is to split the bean lengthwise and scrape out the seeds and add them to your recipe (such as crème brulee, ice cream, etc ...). Another method is to make vanilla flavored ingredients through infusion .. such as vanilla sugar, where you stick a whole bean in the middle of a jar of sugar, cover, let it sit for a time and voila, you have a luscious aromatic vanilla flavored sugar. I'll be sure to post some yummy vanilla recipes soon! I had a great vanilla chicken dish at a South American restaurant a few months back. I'm going to see if I can get a recipe for that too! *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com Ieneke van Houten [ienvan] Sounds great! Can I ask a question that reveals my ignorance? How exactly do you cook with whole vanilla beans? Ien in the Kootenays http://theforestpath.com
