Guest guest
Dear Ann, Please forgive and ignore if this is already known. As far as I know thrush is usually an indication of systemic candida imbalance. Does your daughter have a history of heavy antibiotic use? Bladder or ear infections? This website is a great primer on candida: http://www.candida-yeast.com/questionaire.asp Getting the gut into shape is the place to start any health program, but of course, if toxins are sitting around in tissue you don't want them discharging into the bloodstream till you are finished building a baby. However, I can't see what would be so bad about taking pro-biotics, the good beasties in the gut. Natren makes one especially aimed at infants. They need a different blend from adults. My niece had a ceasarean section, followed by a hospital infection for which both she and the baby were given antibiotics. Baby got thrush and was quite colicky and miserable as well. Within a week of Mom taking the Natren combo she had settled down a lot. I have a friend with heavy yeast issues who says the Natren probiotics do more for her than anything else. http://natren.com The Natren website is a great source of info, but buy your products here much cheaper: http://vitacost.com Ien in the Kootenays **************************** " Intelligence is like legs. Guest guest
Thanks Ien >>As far as I know thrush is usually an indication of systemic candida imbalance. Does your daughter have a history of heavy antibiotic use? Bladder or ear infections? No, she doesn't take anything unless it's really necessary and isn't know for bladder or ear infections. The thrush came when Robin was born (quite a common thing I believe. She did get it cured but then developed mastitis and was really ill which is when she had to have antibiotics and then the thrush came back. She wants to try to prevent it before it happens or at least be able to be on top of it if it does. Thanks for all the info I'll pass it on.
