Guest guest
Hi Rhavda, > Dear Butch, > Thanks for the history lesson on military uniforms. Welcome fer'shur. > I will be sendin a copy of this to my son for his information. Let him > see that dear old mom still reads about history. I think that he will be > happy to read it. Good show and I'm sure he will appreciate your attention to the info .. as he should. ;-) > He made the Superintendent's List for grades last semester and that makes > us happy. So far he has made the Sup's Honor Roll each time at the Naval > Academy. This semester he is officially taking 19 hours with 3 labs or 21 > hours and he will be busy. Great .. I wish him continued success. > He is on guard duty tonight guarding " Bancroft Hall " (the very large building > where 4,000 midshipmen live) against " terrorist activities. " ;-D No kidding > this is what he had on his Away Message and I'm still laughing but it is good > to know that these young people are being taught how to protect their " home " > and our country. Guard duty is not only traditional .. but lately, its functional. There is always a slight risk of friggin idiots trying to do harm to the military system .. and if that one in a zillion event should go down the Monday morning quarterbacks would be looking for someone to crucify .. so the Commandant is wise in teaching the youngsters to honor tradition as well as cover his butt and the security of his charges. > You were so right when you have said that it takes a strong military to give > people the rights to be free and speak their minds. Without our strong military > I would be very worried about where our world and freedoms would be. There are few certainties in life .. death and taxes are two .. Charles Manson never getting out on parole is a third .. and the United States Armed Forces NEVER allowing another Knuckle Head president to draw down our military forces is another. If only people could understand that civilians control those in uniform only because those in uniform allow them to do so .. they might develop a different attitude toward the keepers of our national security. There is no more powerful lobby in America than the active, retired and reserve forces .. they will speak with one voice if necessary and the Knuckle Heads know this. Deterrence is important .. but to deter we must be able to say we don't wanna but if you push us we will .. wanting to and not having the what for to do it is not a deterrence. > Take care and have a great week ahead of you and don't work too > hard. ;-D Thankee ma'am .. weekend is about over here now .. tis 4:52 Sunday afternoon and I reckon around 7:00 or so I will mosey down to the Pub and see what kind of action I can kick off. ;-) > Rhavda Emsion > Scents of Success (http://www.scentsofsuccess.com) > Texas Grown - USA Made Rose Oil Products > Rose, Helichrysum, Oak Moss, Melissa & Other Aromatherapy Products Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
