Guest guest
Hi Peggy, > I also would love to have a copy of Butch's oregano files! I reckon they are uploaded to the list now. > Question - Can one sniff too much oregano? I'll not say never but one would have to do one heckuva lotta sniffing to overload their olfactory system. I've not heard of such a thing and I sniff it often .. and I can think of no reason to sniff it for more than a couple of minutes .. max .. that's sufficient. > Will the oregano interfere with medication? I'm sure this has been > discussed before but I couldn't find anything in the archives. Its not been discussed before because nobody here .. including me .. knows for sure. I know of NO contraindications from use of Origanum .. I've never heard of a doctor telling anyone to avoid the oil or the spice but its always possible for any chemical to interfere with a medication. If we knew the answer today we might be wrong tomorrow because of the large number of new medications going on the shelf each week .. the pill pushers are very busy critters. As for contraindications from essential oil use .. there are far more listed in this and that pub and on this and that site than are real .. lots of rumors that have no basis in fact and are carried forward by writers, teachers and folks on Newsgroups like this one .. wild tales like Pennyroyal causing abortions and many other warning regarding EO use and pregnancy .. Rosemary causing seizures in those who suffer from Epilepsy .. and dozens of other wild tales on use of EO. I recommend y'all check the articles from Martin's Articles Archive .. URL below. I agree with the positions stated in the following articles .. I do NOT agree with every position he takes in all of his article .. but I agree with most of them .. http://www.aromamedical.com/articlesarchive.html Incorrect Safety - An Example Of Misinformation http://www.aromamedical.com/articles/incorrectsafety.htm Essential Oil Safety -The Known and the Unknown http://www.aromamedical.com/articles/eosafety.html Misinformation - On Aromatherapy Issues http://www.aromamedical.com/articles/misinfor.html Pennyroyal Nonsense - Myths About The Dangers http://www.aromamedical.com/articles/pennyroy.html Where Aromatherapy Training Is Going Wrong http://www.aromamedical.com/articles/aromatra.html Aromatherapy Tricksters and Education http://www.aromamedical.com/articles/unethica.html Skin Absorption - Hype & Misinformation http://www.aromamedical.com/articles/skinabso.html False Essential Oils - Adulteration & Sales http://www.aromamedical.com/articles/falseoil.html > Thanks ........Peggy Welcome fer'shur .. and y'all keep smiling. :-P Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
