Guest guest
Hi-- I'm Melodee (but prefer 'goody' as my 'on-line' name), from the Eastern side of the Washington Cascades. I have 2 fiber critters whom I spin fibers from, weave, quilt--and have always wanted to learn soapmaking, etc...but didn't like the thought of using LYE--ucky! AS it seems like everyone knows/does soaps...I want to learn/emphasize body creams & lotions. I intend to use family/friends as my guiny-pigs with perfecting my 'recipes', and be able to make enough for gifts this summer at a large family gathering, early July. If they are liked enough--perhaps I'd like to try marketing in my area--but that's not critical, nor the focal point of my learning experience. There are already 3 people in my town marketing soaps! In doing online research, there's just so much information--- different ingredients out there--it's quite frankly getting confusing at this point. I want to develope as simple as possible recipe for my items which give a definate 'feel' to the skin--I always gravitate towards products stating 'silk' in the descriptions, and my favorite line of comercial products it the 'silk' items thru Bath & Body Works. Well--cept for 'household composition' type info--that about sums it up for me! Glad to be onboard--looking forward to getting to know you, and learning how to best go about what I'm aiming for! goody
Guest guest
Hi Goody, Where in Eastern Washington are you? I am in South Eastern B.C. We have a huge number of soap makers around here too. I don't do the creams and stuff, but I am obsessed with making herbal tinctures and harvesting wild herb-foods aka weeds. I want to plant a burdock bed. It grows well here and deer don't bother it. Amazing nutritional and herbal properties. It is part of the Essiac anti-cancer formula. Anyway.......merry meet!
