Guest guest
Its not surprising that GY can make lavender oil for burn first aid look like it works amazingly well, cause it does. Funny though how folks will attribute it to HIS wonderful lavender or HIS amazing discovery ;-p Rene Maurice Gattefosse discovered how well lavender works for burn, accidentally, almost 100 years ago Anyway, enough about Gary the Shyster Young, and on to a discussion about a burn remedy that I use ... I have had WONDERFUL results with burns of all kinds by using a combination of Lavender oil (Lavandula angustifolia), German Blue Chamomile Oil (Matricaria chamomilla) and fresh Aloe Vera Gel (Aloe Vera barbadensis) - the fresh gel refrigerated is wonderful too. I really do like to use the aloe as the diluting agent for the oils. I personally feel that it works in a synergistic manner. I've slapped that blend onto burns and practically watched the redness and swelling go away! Never cover a burn though - it keeps the heat trapped and is counter productive. If you feel that you MUST cover it, give it one layer of thin gauze weave and that is it! I'm not about to go and burn myself with a soldering iron to prove it, but it works amazingly well - like no sign of burn tomorrow type amazingly well *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com Chris Kelly [Purrrdy] <snipped> he brought out a soldering iron and proceeded to place the hot thing on his forearm! It produced a very nice burn (duh!) and he treated it with *his* burn formulation.....which I am sure is mostly lavender. Of course, the results were dramatic. I decided that it wasn't worth my effort to educate her....as she IS what I would consider a very educated woman! Has anyone else heard of this particular story circulating? Guest guest
Do you keep this blend mixed up and stored in the fridge, Or do you mix it fresh as needed? My eldest daughter tends to burn herself on a regular basis.
