Guest guest
Hi Ien My how things changes in a couple of weeks. I lived in the Stockholm area... From Bromma Plan (near Pripps bryggeria (brewery and boy, the days they brewed, the air was lousy with the smell of hops) to Enskede (where I used to feed a big wild rat (Fed it for the pleasure of my cats who were bored stiff but at night had the delight of watching that monster come out and eat the stuff I was leaving for the birds... Gave up on bird food and used to make a trail of food to give my cats that extra long pleasure of watching that fat horror traveling around after dark) that was HUGE by the time I moved... very fat healthy rat when I moved LOL) to Fisksatre (should be two .. over the a). As for moving, plans have changed radically. Still moving, but not anywhere in Ca, but elsewhere. We used the Southwest air flight route to find reasonable houses within reasonable distances of airports that SW flies to. Also had to be on the west coast... I liked the Idea of Denver but I was " out-voted " , shame that, I'm a HUGE Denver Broncos fan). Finally decided on .... Spokane Washington. The advantage for me is that I used to live there and my best friend and her family still do live there. My brother will only be three hours away (not that I'll ever see him LOL) and my parents will only be 5 hours away instead of 15. Course I haven't lived there in like 25 years, but I've been through it a few times... some of it has changed radically and some of it, not much. We're actually looking at places outside Spooky-Town proper, not too far from the airport, with acres and a good school district... we think we've found it in a place called " Nine Mile Falls " . My ex-sister in law actually grew up there. Schools are better than average and we can easily get about 5 acres for miles less that just about anywhere in CA. The husband will have to fly home on weekends, but he's trying to work a deal where he can telecommute some of the time. He want's to retire anyway in 4 years so it won't be too much of a hardship. At least he hopes not, if it does become impossible, well, plans can change again. I know, TMI, but you sorta did ask and I'm a talker! LOL! Cheers! Guest guest
Spokane? Wow, that is my neighborhood! At least, it is within a day's drive. There is some lovely country near there. If you can handle Stockholm you can handle Spokane winters. I visited Sweden once, during my Dutch days. Much prefered Norway, but Stockholm is nice.
