Guest guest
Hi Janice, > Hi everyone, > I am wondering where I can find a sample of coffee EO? I think it does not exist! I know a couple of folks who claim to sell it .. one is supposed to be a well educated person in this field .. but I am NOT ready to accept that it exists as an Essential Oil!! One seller claims to offer Coffee Essential Oil created by a Master Distiller in France .. etc., etc., etc. There are many advertisements on the totally uncontrolled I-Net that I don't buy .. things like Therapeutic Grade and such .. that's marketing hype .. pure and simple! > I have only found it in a few places. I think you found a Coffee Flower Absolute .. not a Coffee Essential Oil. I'm of the opinion that if we try to steam distill or hydro-steam distill or hydro diffuse Coffee Flowers we'll get a mass that steam can not pass through .. and if we use any of the same processes on Coffee Beans we'll get .. ahhh .. one helluva big cuppa coffee. ;-) > I am hoping one of you will have a good resource. Go to any search engine .. http://www.dogpile.com and type in the words Coffee Absolute .. you'll find many sources selling the Absolute and the CO2. You might even find someone claiming to sell an Essential Oil from Coffee Beans .. but like I said .. I ain't ready to buy that. Marge .. Marcia .. Chris .. and of the other folks who are knowledgeable in this area .. jump in and correct me if you can .. I am always ready to change my mind in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary. > I am excited that they do make it. The Absolute and the CO2 .. but not an Essential Oil .. methinks. > Also, how is it extracted? See the next post I will send .. an old repeat on production of oils. > I have seen that CO2 is one way, are there other ways for this EO to > be extracted? CO2 is one method .. the other is Absolute .. but I an not convinced that what we find in a Coffee Bean is Essential Oil .. in fact, I'm willing to bet it ain't! The post I will send explains a bit about how these oils are made. > Would love to find out some history, uses and facts on this for my > personal reference. Can't help you much on the history and therapeutic properties of a Coffee CO2 or Absolute .. in fact, I doubt if there are any aside from the emotional (perhaps psychological) impact the odor has if one likes the odor .. and I'm not putting down those aspects as they are important to our overall well being. As far as I know Coffee extracts have not been tested for safety .. they are produced primarily for the flavoring and perfumery trade .. so I would not put them directly on my skin. I'd use them in a diffuser in a heart beat. I have written the history of Coffee on my old (now closed) Turkish web site .. http://www.Bsi-Hq/coffee.html .. not that this has a danged thing to do with your question. ;-) > Thank you for any help you can give me. Welcome .. and sorry I couldn't be of more help. Perhaps the next post will be of more value to you. > Take care, > Janice And you .. and y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
