Guest guest
Hi Deb, <snipped> > Not much to report here. The Lemon Balm is going crazy. It'll do that > Have an idea > that I would like to trouble shoot here from folks that extract > Melissa. Since how it's supposed to only have a shelf life of a year, What did you extract it in? Is it the oil you're worried only has the shelf life of a year, or the Melissa? > what are your thoughts on reinfusing a double infused Lemon Balm > extract from late last year? The thought of it seems plausible to me. Depends on what you extracted it in. If its an oil with a long shelf life, or alcohol, then sure, I don't see why you can't infuse it again. If its an oil with a short shelf life and you are worried its turning, then I wouldn't waste it and start fresh (also you can extend the shelf life of your oil by putting it in the fridge and adding Vitamin E (an anti-oxidant). > Would love your input. A large amount of Martini's sounds really good to me actually *lol* > Chris: Sure would love to see Gotu Kola as the herb of the week soon. > Just acquired a pound of it, and am wondering if I want to extract all > of it or split it for tea, extract, etc. Next week we shall do Gotu Kola! > Was sorry to see the Lemon Verbena leave. Aww, we can still talk about it <grinz> It just won't officially be the Herb Of The Week. > My only input on Lemon Verbena is: That it's supposed > to be good for the Pancreas. It is available as an EO - its just expensive and it is a REALLY bad skin sensitizer - I mean REALLY! > The Elder blossoms are almost ready here in TN. Actually, some are > ready and others a bit behind.
