I remember reading years ago that R.J. Reynolds tobacco co. was the world's largest purchaser of Clary Sage eo. They just raised the price of my American Spirit's... by a LOT...and they are already twice the cost of most brands... but they are just tobacco...nothing but pure tobacco leaf. I was going to switch to a cheaper brand when this carton is gone (tomorrow?)... reading that makes me want to think it out again. Celebrating 10 years online. Guest guest
What do the eo's do in a cigarette? I have been a smoker since college....some 33 years. I did quit when I was pregnant with my children, but took it up again... Here in Washington state, the legislature, in their esteemed wisdom, deemed that taxes on cigarettes needed to be higher to pay for whatever....so, as of July 1, the taxes on cigarettes went up another 60 cents...now a pack of cigarettes is around $6.00 (average). Luckily, I have a friend in South Carolina, where it is around $3.00 per pack. Barb

I live in SC too and we can get Senecas for around $11 a carton here. Of course the name brands are up to $26. Neysa
Guest guest
I believe it went up to help pay for the medical treatment needed by those affected by smoking... at least, that's the goals... whether or not the money actually gets there, I can't tell you.
