Guest guest
" Now, I'm the Dallas area, ick!, and don't know anyone! Christy " Hi Christy, I'm new to this list & was wondering if you make soap? If so I would like to invite you to join the Texas Soapmakers Association & our online group. I am fairly new to the association myself & they are such a nice bunch of ladies & very willing to share... & there are quite a few in the Dallas area, as a matter of fact we just had our annual convention in Plano. You just might meet a buddy thru us!!! The website is www.txsoapmakers.org Have a wonderful day! donna Donna Buchholz Something Different Soap & Things Victoria, Texas
Guest guest
>>>I've been inspired! I suggest everyone get a buddy to spend a day with and just play with smelly stuff for fun <<< This has always, by far, been one of the most rewarding and funnest aspects of enjoying aromatherapy and all it entails. None of my " regular " friends have much knowledge or interest, certainly not the passion, that we all have for the oils. It has always been so fun and rewarding to meet with a fellow oil lover and talk shop. While I was in Calif., I met with Stacey a couple times. What a blast! While in Phoenix, Donna G. and I got together many many times. She has such a HUGE stash of oils, I loved going to her place. She always sent me home with *something*. It was a real treat meeting a few others at the AromaHerb show in Tempe a few years ago, David, Carrie.... And then going down to Tucson twice to the Sorensons for an AT meet with a dozen or so others, including Martin Watt the first year and Butch Owen the following. Lynda and Graham are both so nice. Now, I'm the Dallas area, ick!, and don't know anyone! These online lists are great, but there's nothing like spending real time with someone who just " gets it " when we talk about the industry. So I second Chris' suggestion! I used to be able to do it, and miss it something awful! Christy Christy
Guest guest
Hi Christy, I too am in Texas ... but when I hear the Houston area folks talk about getting together for a meet-up, I might as well be back in MN. Next time I'm in the DFW area, I'll send you an email and maybe we can " play " . Or, if you ever head toward the Hill Country, give me a holler. P.S. I was also at the Tucson non-conference when Martin was there. Hi Christy, I live in Richardson, which is either a mile from Dallas or acros the road(depending on which road you're on, LOL). I bore most people who are not soapmakers to tears, so I certainly can relate to what you are saying, and I too enjoy getting together with others who " get me " .....God forbid! LOL I am a wee baby when it comes to EO's, and that's why I'm here. But there are a group of ladies who have a monthly lunch on the weekend (as a matter of fact this weekend is the next one). I only go every couple of months, so I can't be considered " regular " . I'm sure I speak for the group when I invite you if you want to come. PM me if you're interested. Julie PS-Too bad I wasn't interested in most of this when I spent 15 years in Phoenix. I understand there are alot of great people there.
