Guest guest
ARGH! Would a postage scale do? Yeah I know... what the HECK am I talking about... Soap of course. >sigh< I'm going to have to go look again at stuff needed. I know plastic is out if lye is in, I know good ventilation is a must (as with aromatherapy and candle making), gloves, a stick thingee (I have a braun, but we use that for cooking, I guess I need another huh?), thermometor... I need to check my lye, I opened it ONCE after I bought it and stayed away from it afterwards. Back to check the " must have " lists again. -- Cheers! Guest guest
Hey Kathleen, A postage scale is fine, but depending on the amount you're going to make, etc. Also, are you going to work in grams, oz? A good choice in scales and varieties is www.oldwillknot.com He has every scale imaginable and at great prices! You can also pick one up at WalMart and such, but if you can wait, I would try looking at oldwillknot's site. I got my scale within the week as he ships priority mail. I've bought several scales over the years through him and haven't had any complaints!! My first scale I bought at WalMart, but in ounces it weighed in fractions and I had to always convert and in grams it only measured in even grams down to 2 grams and only weighed up to 4lbs max. Even if you don't buy from him, it gives you an idea on what's out there and the prices. BTW, his prices are good too!! Guest guest
NEED? Or want very much? Sincere question... we can't use the same stick blender for soap making as other things? >and candle making), gloves, a stick thingee (I have a braun, but we use that >for cooking, I guess I need another huh?), -Josh
Guest guest
I won't use anything for making food that has been used with lye. I have 4 stick blenders adn paid maybe $5 for all of them. Look at re-sale stores, garage sales, flea markets, etc..... That's where I bought 95% of my soap making 'tools' Paula .......... in Michigan I used to have super powers but my therapist took them away NEED? Or want very much? Guest guest
I bought a kitchen scale at Wal Mart several years ago. It does ounces and grams. Five pounds top. I'm looking into buying a new scale, soon. Julia Graber Girl By Julia Julia Graber Cregger
Guest guest
Old Will also sells on ebay! That's where I got mine. All 8 of em. I really like the My Weigh KD600 for soaping and candlemaking. It comes with a power cord so that's cool!
