Guest guest
So, I've launched my lip balm! Sort of. I still need to take photos and what not and I'm trying to keep my inventory steady for the end of the year, but I have some ideas and questions I wanted to throw out ... #1 ... anyone found a good way to hand out lip balm samples? I thought I saw a lip balm " pearl " mold somewhere, but now I think I may be hallucinating. Since a lip balm tube holds only 0.15 ounce, I haven't found any " sample " packaging that is smaller. on the other hand, I am not giving out a whole tube as a sample (and filling it only part way seems to be a waste of the tube and may confuse people about how much lip balm they get when they pay for it) anyone found any convenient ways to pass out lip balm samples? Ideally, i'd like to show up at Mt. Bachelor and just start passing out samples to everyone on the lift with chapped lips (with Mt. B's permssion, of course). Attached to a waterproof Snowboard Mommy.com sticker, OF COURSE! #2 lip balm tube labels I found a good template at the-sage.com for a wrap around lip balm tube label ( http://www.thesage.com/pub/pdf/0.15_Lip_Balm_Tube_Labels.pdf ). I even found waterproof label material so it stands up to being kept in a pocket or bottom of a purse or snowboard jacket on a rainy day for a while (hey, can i deduct my lift ticket and snowboard jacket for product testing??? LOL). However, what I haven't found is a waterproof material label sized close enough to the template's size -- so I have to cut out the labels from a full (8.5 " x11 " ) sheet and then spend 10 mins each trying to get the backing off each label and " save " the ones that just happened to be cut around the " back slit " for " last " ... I don't have any grey hair yet, and I'd rather not get any from stupid lip balm labels. .... Anyone found a label that is close to being wrapable around a lip balm tube? .... Anyone have labels made for their products that don't require a 10,000 label minimum per product? Since I haven't actually sold that much lip balm yet, i'm not sure i can justify anything except spending 10 mins getting the backing off labels cut from a full sheet. But, I'm going to, right?? Anyway, any lip balm product suggestions are welcome. Thanks!!! ~Bonnie
Guest guest
Bonnie, You gave me a good laugh. I use the same procedure you do but have it down to a science now. I know just how to get under that corner and pull off the backing. I did 24 of them this afternoon in just a few minutes. LOL! Maybe after a few more pages of labels you will develop some real speed. -Helen However, what I haven't found is a waterproof material label sized close enough to the template's size -- so I have to cut out the labels from a full (8.5 " x11 " ) sheet and then spend 10 mins each trying to get the backing off each label and " save " the ones that just happened to be cut around the " back slit " for " last " ... Guest guest
Hi Bonnie, >... Anyone found a label that is close to being wrapable around a lip balm >tube? I use a waterproof rectangle label size 1.74 X 4 " and then I just cut them in half. Took me a long time to get this one figured out too. This works and is faster than using a whole label sheet. I get my labels at rippedsheets.com where you'll find a huge selection of waterproof labels for both ink jet and laser printers! >... I just got an ad for incrediblelabels.com and their prices look pretty good with low runs. > >Since I haven't actually sold that much lip balm yet, i'm not sure i can >justify anything except spending 10 mins getting the backing off labels cut >from a full sheet. Guest guest
My way of giving samples of lip balm is to get popsicle sticks. (craft sticks, available in large boxes of them from many craft stores) and just scrape a little off the lip balm tube . they then can wipe it onto their fingers and then to their lips. Certainly helps the sales I can tell you! Graham Sorenson http://Luna-Aromatics.com Come and stick your nose in our business The Home of " Arizona Balm " the Natural Solution to Problem Dry Skin. Guest guest
At my shows I just use toothpicks, scrape a little off the top of my sample tube(s) & they can either use the toothpick or their finger & then throw the toothpick away. They seem to appreciate the fact that they are not getting anyone else's germs. I keep my samples off to the side so that no one handles them but me & keep a small bag handy to throw away their toothpicks in. Easy & it really helps sell my lip balm. Hope this helps!! donna Donna Buchholz Something Different Soap & Things
