Guest guest
Just was wondering for people that have experience with using EO's in their candles, whether or not it is important to use organic EO's. I feel like it is just important to purchase what you would use in bath products, etc. Smell is very important, but again the cost of organic EO's, 1oz. per lb of natural wax seems to be pretty expensive. Any advice? Thanks, Renee
Guest guest
Hi Renee, I do believe it is important to use EO's in candles rather than FO's - cause when burning candles you are emitting into the air all the chemicals that are in the candles - which includes the wax, the fragrances, etc .. that is why at A Little Ol'Factory we only use EO's in our candles and only use natural waxes. There have also been recent studies that prove the benefits of putting EO's into candles (benefits you could never get from a FO candle, OR from just having EO's sitting out on their own!) http://www.alittleolfactory.com/eocandles.html . I don't think its as important to use a more costly EO in your candles (such as certified organic) cause in the case of distilled oils, the pesticides don't come through though the distillation process into the finished product .. but I'd still want an oil that was as pure as possible if possible. *Smile Chris (list mom - off to the Asian Market now to get the first round of goodies to get ready for my New Year's night, which will be full of teriyaki, tempura, sushi, sashimi and sake!) http://www.alittleolfactory.com <http://www.alittleolfactory.com/> On Behalf Of Brownay2 Just was wondering for people that have experience with using EO's in their candles, whether or not it is important to use organic EO's. Any advice? > Maybe try using less eo per lb. That 1 oz per lb amount is really for fo's I think. I'm finding that if you use to much eo your candle will burn and smell like petro fuel instead of the actual eo. I think the use of organic is a personal choice/feeling so can't help with that. Guest guest
Why are you using so much EO ? In my soap and inmy soy candles, I use at the most, 1 oz FO or 0.5 oz EO per pound of oils or wax Paula .......... in Michigan I used to have super powers but my therapist took them away >Just was wondering for people that have experience with using EO's in their >candles, whether or not it is important to use organic EO's.
